Developmental Toxicology

Credit: 3 hours.


(ENVST 416) Introduction to developmental toxicology that examines causes and manifestations both of structural malformations and of funtional deficits in mammals. Topics covered include interactions between external factors and developmental gene expression, the behavioral consequences of chemical exposure, identification and regulation of developmental toxicants. Examples emphasize developmental toxicants that are present in the human environment. Laboratory demonstrations will illustrate lecture material whenever feasible. Same as VB 516. Prerequisite: ENVS 480, or one course in neruobiology or consent of instructor.
