American Indians of Illinois

Credit: 3 hours.

This course satisfies the General Education Criteria for a
Hist&Philosoph Perspect, and US Minority Culture(s) course.

An interdisciplinary survey of the Native American experience in the Illinois region from pre-Columbian times to the present. Introduces theories, concepts and methods in archaeology, history, and sociocultural anthropology. Includes archaeological field site and museum visits, plus guest lectures by American Indian scholars and community members. Same as HIST 288 and AIS 288.
