Chinese Classics Through Film

Introduces students to an array of Chinese literary classics with the aid of films. It entails the close reading of classics such as Confucius' Analects, Daoist classics of Lao Zi and Zhuang Zi, the Buddhist Platform Sutra, Tang Poetry, a Yuan novel, the drama Peony Pavilion, and several Ming-Qing novels.
