Examination of the political, social, economic, military, institutional, religious and cultural development of the Early Byzantine Empire from the reign of Diocletian (AD 284-305) through the Heraclian Dynasty (AD 610-717). 3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Same as MDVL 443. Prerequisite: A year of college history or consent of instructor.
