Theory and practice of computer-assisted instruction, with special emphasis on problems and techniques of foreign-language instruction. General principles; survey of existent and probable future CAI systems; and practical experience with lesson design and programming on the IBM and Macintosh personal computers. Linguistics majors are advised to complete LING 406 before registering for this course. Same as CLCV 482, EIL 482, FR 482, GER 482, ITAL 482, LING 486, PORT 482, SLAV 482, and SPAN 482. Prerequisite: Two years college language or equivalent, and consent of instructor.
