Fiber and Textile Performance

Credit: 4 hours.


Examines chemical composition, polymer structure, and engineering potential of textile fibers; effects of chemical finishes and recycling procedures on performance characteristics of consumer textile products; and introduces physical and chemical metrology techniques useful for quality control and research purposes. Same as ACE 480. Offered in alternate years. Prerequisite: NRES 283 or CHEM 104.
