AE 560
Fracture Mechanics Laboratory

Credit:  4 hours.

Experimental and physical aspects of fracture mechanics including elastic crack tip stress field, thermoelasticity, thermoplasticity, optical techniques, J-integral, toughening mechanisms, dynamic fracture, and fatigue. Several laboratory experiments are performed to illustrate issues covered in class. Prerequisite: TAM 451 or TAM 551.
