Indigenous Critical Theory

Credit:  3 or 4 hours.


Development of analytical frameworks at the intellectual crossroads where the innovative epistemologies of an American Indian-centered and community-grounded indigenous studies meets feminist theory, critical race theory, semiotic studies, linguistically oriented psychoanalysis, and post colonial theory. Topics vary. 3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. May be repeated to a maximum of 6 undergraduate hours or 8 graduate hours in separate terms as topics vary. Prerequisite: Any 100 or 200-level American Indian Studies course or consent of instructor.
