Latina/Latino Studies Program

Interdisciplinary Minor in Latina/Latino Studies

The Interdisciplinary Minor in Latina/Latino Studies will allow students following any major plan of study to gain extensive knowledge in Latina/Latino Studies by means of a set of seven courses (at least 21 credit hours) chosen in consultation with a Latina/Latino Studies Program Adviser. The courses must form a coherent program of study and be approved by the Latina/Latino Studies Program Committee or Advisor.

LLS 100–Intro to Latina-Latino Studies

3 courses in the Humanities and 3 courses in the Social Sciences

Total required hours


No more than 2 courses or 6 hours may be chosen from a single department.

No more than 3 hours may be at the 100 level and at least 6 hours must be 300 and 400-level courses.

Completion of the program requires a minimum grade point average of 2.75 (A+ = 4.0) in Latina/Latino Studies courses.
