Interdisciplinary Minor in Asian American Studies
The Asian American Studies Program offers a campus-wide Interdisciplinary
Minor. This minor represents a coherent program for students who wish
to deepen their study of Asian American histories, experiences, contemporary
issues and social problems as a part of their liberal education and
understanding of multicultural America. It is relevant to curricula
such as sciences and letters, business, economics, education, health
studies, pre-law, social work, or urban and regional planning.
A student's plan of courses for the minor must be approved by the Asian
American Studies Program. A minimum grade point average of 2.75 is required
for completion of courses taken in the program. On recommendation of its
Director, the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will verify
that the student has complete the minor.
The minor will consist of 21 hours of approved courses from diverse
departments and must include:
