(ACE 298) Group discussion on a special topic in a field of study directly pertaining to subject matter in agricultural and consumer economics. May be repeated to a maximum of 12 hours. Prerequisite: Junior standing and consent of instructor.

Food Law
Section FL: Food Law. An introduction to the legal and political dimensions of food law, policy and trade. Examines current issues in food regulation including biotechnology, organics, fair trade, health labeling claims, obesity litigation, food safety, "veggie libel" and products liability litigation. Discusses food regulation in other countries within the context of international treaties such as the World Trade Organization, United Nations and Codex Alimentarius.
