AE 525 Advanced Composite Materials
Credit: 4 hours.
Advanced analysis of composite materials (extension of AE 428/TAM 428); anisotropic elasticity; micromechanical theories; behavior of composite plates and beams under bending, buckling, and vibration; advanced elasticity solution techniques; hygrothermal behavior of polymer composites; strength prediction theories and failure mechanisms in composites; processing of metal, ceramic, and polymer composites; analysis of residual stresses. Same as TAM 525. Prerequisite: AE 428.
