MUSICS OF MINOTIRITES: ROMA AND THEIR MUSICAL WORLDS. This course explores musics of minorities as one of the major trends in current European ethnomusicology. The Roma (Gypsies) are given a special position in this context due to the common imagery related to their musicianship. An investigation into musical as well as geographical, historical, demographic, religious, lingual and several other aspects brings us closer to understanding of their varied musical worlds.
