Discovery course.
So, You Think You Want to Be a Teacher?, 1 hour. This course is intended for freshmen who are considering a career in teaching, pre-K-12. Through readings, guest presentations and panels, videotapes, and discussions, students will explore the challenges and rewards of teaching, and learn what is involved. First year Discovery Program course. Registration restricted to freshmen. Students should enroll in only one Discovery course.

Reading & Writing Autobiography, 3 hours. This course will offer freshman time to read autobiographies/memoirs of the lives of others (if possible drawing upon the published works of pioneers in their field) as they begin a new phase of their own lives. This course will offer an opportunity to read, write and learn from the lives of others. First year Discovery Program course. Registration restricted to freshman. Students should enroll in only one Discovery course.
