Southern Africa Race & Power

Credit:  3 or 4 hours.


Interdisciplinary survey of both the internal and international dimensions of the changing situation in Africa south of the Zambezi; focuses on the historical background to, and a political, economic, and social analysis of current events in the Republic of South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, and Zimbabwe, emphasizing the central significance of race and power in this region. Same as AFST 425. 3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: HIST 211 or AFST 222
