Credit:  3 or 4 hours.


Introduction to contemporary demographic patterns and their historical development; transition theory and other models of demographic change; components of population growth and distribution; and trends and differentials in mortality and fertility. 3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: SOC 270 and SOC 380, or consent of instructor.
