Topics including theme, genre, and literary movements, predominantly in English or American nineteenth- and twentieth-century fiction, with occasional consideration of continental fiction in English translation; topics may vary from term to term. 3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. May be repeated if topics vary. Prerequisite: One year of college literature or consent of instructor.
