ESL 500
Oral and Written Communication

Credit:  0 hours.


Introduction to the conventions of group discussions and formal oral presentations; introduction to paragraph development and organization of American academic writing. Approved for both letter and S/U grading. Credit may not be used toward a graduate degree. Prerequisite: Recommendation from UIUC English as a Second Language Placement Test.


Proof of eligibility must be brought to the first meeting of the class. No student will be permitted to remain in the class who does not take the Diagnostic Test administered during the first three class meetings.
