Aquatic Sport Activities

Credit:  1 hours.


Skills and knowledge essential for leisure-time activities which are classified as aquatic sport activities. Prerequisites for each aquatic sport activity are provided in the Class Schedule. More than one activity (Sections A through Z) may be taken in the same term.

Canoeing. Introductory skills and knowledge essential for handling a canoe with safety. The ability to be in deep water, mainatin a survival float and put on a presonal flotation device (PFD) in the water. A one day field trip on a Friday to a local river/lake is required. First class meeting is in 121 Campus Recreation Outdoor Center (CROC). Additional class activity fee of $100.00 required which includes equipment (canoes, PFD's, paddles, etc.) and supplies used throughout the course.
