Discovery course.
Science and Sport. This will be a multidisciplinary course examining the use of science to study sport. The focus is on how science is used to understand and optimize sport performance. Research on popular sports played in the United States such as baseball, as well as research on sports and games from around the world such as the cricket and the French game petanque, will be covered. Research from biomechanics, motor control, psychology and physiology perspectives will be emphasized. Students will have the opportunity to study scientific research on a sport of their interest in depth. First Year Discovery Program Course. Registration restricted to freshman. Students should only enroll in one Discovery course.
