Environment and Society

Credit:  3 hours.

This course satisfies the General Education Criteria for a
UIUC Social Sciences, and Western Compartv Cult course.

Examination of the relationship between environment and society and implications for ecological and human well-being. Social science perspective covered on topics such as environmental change, environmental decision-making, natural resource management, agricultural systems, and environmental risks, hazards, and disasters. Students will build critical thinking skills focused on contemporary problems in the interface between people and the physical environment. Same as PS 273. Prerequisite: NRES 102 and sophomore or higher standing. Introductory social science course recommended.
