Cultural Studies: Western/Comparative Culture(s)

If you entered college as a freshman in Fall 1995 or later, you need to complete the Cultural Studies requirement in order to graduate. This requirement consists of one course in Western/Comparative Culture(s) and one course in Non-Western/US Minority Cultures.

The courses listed below satisfy this requirement on a campus-wide basis. The courses are listed by subject and number, and include the date at which the course became effective for General Education credit. If you took a course on or after its effective date, then it will count toward your requirement. If you took a course before its effective date, however, the course will not count.

Effective for entering freshmen in Fall 2004, all courses on this list are approved for General Education credit on a campus wide basis. However individual Colleges or curricula may require specific courses or course categories. Students should consult their advisors about selecting the general education courses which best fit their programs of study.

Courses are added as they are approved.
